Roy set out to build a business that would create a lasting legacy for his family. He wanted to build something stable, successful, and meaningful.
His background as a line-haul LTL driver taught him discipline, resilience, and the importance of getting the job done right, no matter how long it takes. Earlier in life, Roy worked in lawn care, so he has an understanding of what customers expect from quality service. His experience as an underground miner further reinforced the value of hard work, reliability, and consistency, principles he brings with him every day as the owner of Lawn Squad of Big Sky Montana.
He has been married to his wife, Merilyn, for 10 years, and together have four children. Giving back is important to Roy; him and his family regularly support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a cause close to their hearts. Outside of work, he loves traveling with family, especially to the Philippines, exploring Southeast Asia, and seeking adventure.
